WATER HEATER- More than 1400 fires a year are caused by water heaters as the ignition source of flammable liquid vapors. Flammable vapors flow across the floor and when they reach the water heater pilot light, ignition occurs. |

For clients who wish to simulate the conditions of an event, SEL has a Full Scale Burn Room at its Yale, Michigan, facility. Exemplar structures and vehicles can be constructed to test fire and explosion scenarios. State-of-the-art video and digital photography systems are available to provide a permanent record. SEL also has a portable X-ray system capable of producing both film and video imaging. |
